This studio light (kindly donated by Paul) is to serve as overal lighting in my room and occasionally as (improvised) studio lighting. Because it's the only (decent) light source in my room and because of the idea of occasionally using it as studio lighting, at the moment, it contains a 300W incandescent light bulb. And an energy usage of 300W/h is something that makes my ecological friendly parents shiver, shout and more. So, I was ordered to replace it with an compact fluorescent lamp. And so the quest began. I drove to Vansant, put the original lamp on the counter and asked for exactly the same amount of watts, fitting, length (it has to still fit the frame) and preferable also color temperature (more for the overall lighting then for the use of studio lamp). "Geeh, euhm... wait... no... I'll call someone that knows more about this type op lamps." Well, they ordered one, in about a week we'll see if that 45.98 will be well spend. Curious of the results though. As I look around the house, most of the colors these lamps are spreading are butt ass ugly. ;) |
